Redlands Veterinary Clinic

"The Redlands is such a fantastic region in which to live, it is also a very pet friendly place to live - there is no doubt that the people of Redlands love their pets and there are so many beautiful places around here to enjoy time with our pets, friends and family!”

We sit down with Abbey Lovell from the Redland’s Vet Clinic to find out what it means to Live, Love Local...

1. How long have you been involved with the Redlands Vet Clinic, what’s sets the clinic apart from any other facilities in The Redlands?

We have grown up around the clinic, which our parents started over 40 years ago.  The clinic is very much family owned and orientated, with a family based team who are very committed to the health of pets in the Redlands!  We have a very team based approach to all cases, which means that all of our vets, administration staff and nurses are kept informed of what is happening with your pet.  This means that whenever you call or make an appointment, you can rest assured that we will know what the current status of your pet's condition is.  Having such a family and team based approach to all our patients is a unique advantage that we have here at the clinic.

2. What an incredible way to spend your working hours, caring for and spending time with our four legged friends and those with feathers, fur and fins... we are totally jealous!
What is it about what you do that gives you and the team ‘that fire in the belly’ feeling and keeps you at it everyday?

Our collective LOVE of all things pets and pets related! We are all Pet Parents and understand that your pet, whether it be a mouse, horse or anything in between, is part of the family.  We love having the opportunity to look after our client's furbabies - it is a priviledge to work in such a vibrant and passionate clinic and industry, and our patients are what keeps us coming back each and every day.

3. What’s the hardest part of what you do?

The hardest part of what we do is seeing abuse and neglect of animals.  Most people think that putting pets to sleep would be the hardest part of our job - it is extremely hard and sad to do this, but at the same time, we again see it as an honour to manage pets through illness and at the end of their lives.  Dealing with cases of neglect or abuse is much harder but an unfortunate reality of the job.  We also run a very successful kitten rescue program, which is incredibly rewarding but also sad to see how many non desexed adult cats are producing litters of unwanted kittens.  We are just so grateful that we can do what we can to help at least some of them.

4. Our campaign is called Live, Love Local. When you hear these three words what do they mean to you?

Live, Love Local is the perfect campaign for the Redlands! The Redlands is such a fantastic region in which to live, and it is so important to support local industry and business. It is also a very pet friendly place to live - there is no doubt that the people of Redlands love their pets and there are so many beautiful places around here to enjoy time with our pets, friends and family! We are proud to be a family owned and managed business and try to support local small businesses wherever possible.
