Flow Pilates and Fitness

"It is such a gift to provide the general public with knowledge and awareness that previously they may not have experienced. Just knowing that I am making a difference to how people feel in general is wonderfully fulfilling.”

We sat down with Tamara McGinn from Flow Pilates and Fitness to see what it means to Live, Love Local...

1.How long has the studio been operating? What prompted you to open the studio in the heart of The Redlands?

The Pilates studio has been in operation since 2014.  We started in a spare room in our house, then the garage.  We are local residents and have been for many years.  There was also a need for a local Pilates studio in the southern end of the Redlands.

2. What an incredible way to spend your working hours, encouraging health, fitness and wellness and being part of people achieving their fitness goals.
What is it about what you do that gives you ‘that fire in the belly’ feeling and keeps you at it every day?

It is such a gift to provide the general public with knowledge and awareness that previously they may not have experienced.  I love hearing the feedback I receive about my clients receiving comments on how great their posture looks, or that their back pain has reduced.  Pilates class provides and creates a positive attitude, so it’s great to see.  Just knowing that I am making a difference to how people feel in general is wonderfully fulfilling.

3. What’s the hardest part of what you do?

The hardest part is finding balance.  Being able to switch off is something I am working on.

4. Our campaign is called Live, Love Local. When you hear these three words what do they mean to you?

That is what we are about; supporting local business and spending time exploring what makes our area unique.
